Stomach ache causes and solutions!

Types of stomach pain

There are many types of abdominal pain. It varies depending on where it occurs. Localized Pain is moderate to severe pain in a single location. It is caused by disorders in the organs in that specific location. Most often, such pain is caused by stomach ulcers, appendicitis, gallstones and inflammation, and kidney stones.

Crampy or pulling pain can be caused by indigestion, bloating, constipation, and also by menstrual cramps, miscarriage, and uterine disorders. Colicky Pain is a squeezing pain caused by gallstones and kidney stones, and intestinal obstruction.
Generalized Pain is pain that occurs throughout the abdomen. This type of pain can be caused by intestinal obstruction, perforation, advanced pancreatitis, appendicitis, and cholecystitis, and diarrhea.

Upper abdomen

Pain in the upper abdomen is often caused by peptic ulcer, indigestion, gallstones, cholecystitis, pancreatitis, and a lung disease called pneumonia. Pneumonia is caused by lung disease, kidney stones, and liver abscesses and hepatitis.

Pain in the right upper abdomen

Pain in the right upper abdomen is usually caused by gallstones and inflammation, peptic ulcer, ureteral stone (right side), and kidney stone. Pain in the lower abdomen is often caused by appendicitis, hernia, ectopic pregnancy, urinary tract infection, cystitis, IBS, inflammatory bowel disease, and urinary tract stones. Pain in the right lower abdomen is usually caused by appendicitis, hernia, Crohn’s disease, ileocaecal TB, colon ulcer, and urinary tract stone obstruction.

When to see a doctor

Most mild stomach pain can be resolved without medication and through diet.

However, if you experience the following symptoms, it is best to consult a doctor for appropriate tests and treatment.

If stomach pain persists for more than 24 hours, if there is vomiting or nausea, if there is chronic constipation, if there is fever, loss of appetite, or if there is significant weight loss, it is best to consult a doctor immediately and seek proper treatment.

How to know the causes of stomach pain?

The cause of stomach pain can be determined by doing some tests and pressing on the stomach. You can do tests such as ultrasound, CT scan, MRI scan, X-ray, etc., as needed. Through these tests, you can find out the damage to the organs that are causing the stomach pain, such as stones (gallbladder, kidney), appendicitis, pancreatitis, tumors, intestinal and uterine tumors. Through a test called endoscopy, you can find out about esophageal ulcers, stomach ulcers, and cancer.

A colonoscopy is a test that examines the entire colon and can detect intestinal ulcers, inflammation, rectal ulcers, and colon cancer. Blood tests, stool tests, and urine tests can determine whether you have an infection with viruses, bacteria, or intestinal worms.

How can you prevent stomach aches?

Not all stomach aches can be prevented. But most can be prevented by following our lifestyle and eating habits as follows. The nature of the stomach ache and its consequences can be prevented.

You should eat nutritious foods. You should drink plenty of water. You should eat small meals at regular intervals. Physical exercise is very important. You should get enough sleep.
